UFC Welterweight Nate Diaz has taken a shot at the current BMF belt holder and fellow Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal. Diaz took to Instagram to express his thoughts on Masvidal returning to the cage again in August or September.
Masvidal spoke to Boxing Express and revealed his plans of returning to the cage in the latter part of the summer, and ESPN MMA covered it on Instagram. They received a comment on the post from Diaz, which said, “B******* sellout.”

It’s no wonder that Diaz feels hard done by Jorge’s inactivity, as Nate has stated in multiple interviews that he wants to fight at least three times in 2021. He has also hinted at a fight against Dustin Poirier, but added that it would have to be at Welterweight.
Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal: An intense rivalry
Diaz and Masvidal have fought before at UFC 244 for the newly formed BMF title. Nate had called Masvidal out after showing some appreciation for the work that he was doing. They fought in the Madison Square Garden in front of a sold-out crowd.
The fight was pretty eventful, with Masvidal dominating in the earlier stages. However, Diaz always showed signs of coming back and getting stronger. Unfortunately, after three rounds, the fight had to be stopped due to a cut above Nate’s eye.
The doctor’s stoppage didn’t go down well with the crowd, and the fighter asked for a rematch in his post-fight interview. However, the UFC rejected it at the time.

The BMF title hasn’t been contested since then, and Nate hasn’t fought either. If Diaz and Masvidal are set to fight again, it will be one of the most anticipated matches of the year due to the first fight’s controversy.
There’s a genuine rivalry between the two fighters and also some respect, and if the first fight is anything to go by, fans will be lucky to see them fight again.
