Nowadays, the league is chucking up more threes than any other era in NBA history. Warriors’ Steph Curry is the cornerstone behind this revolution in the league without a douubt.

However, long before Steph took over the league, his father Dell Curry was known as a great shooter. In the year 1988, the Hornets acquired him on a 2-year deal to improve their roster. They also drafted Rex Chapman with their first-ever draft selection in the league.

Chapman recently shared some stories about Steph Curry in an interview.

“Stephen was born my rookie year. They lived two doors down and Sonya and Dell used to bring Stephen over to my place, leave him with me for a couple hours while they’d go to a movie.

“There were several times that, we would go to ball games, and since I was a rookie I was always in the backseat of the car. Dell’s usually driving, and we had a car seat, which Muggsy [Bogues] should have been in, but he was sitting up front. And then we had Stephen in the car, in the car seat. We all thought we were pretty good, and the baby was better than us the whole time.

“Little did we know. We thought we were hot stuff, and he was just chilling in the backseat biding his time.”

Steph was widely underrated when he entered the league, but he kept working hard and changed the entire league. Next season, he’ll be back after missing most of the 2019-20 season due to a hand injury. With his return, many corners of the crowd believe the Warriors will be back to dominate the league again.

Moreover, despite being a great player, Curry has one jewel missing in the crown; A Finals MVP. If Steph recovers perfectly from the injury, he should bag a few more championships before calling it quits.
