World Series Game 3 was relieving, record-setting, and leading for the Texas Rangers. They have taken off the pressure from their head and put it on their counterpart, Arizona Diamondbacks, leading by 2-1. It was a kind of hide-and-seek series. One team wins after the other. D-backs are also good comebackers. Would they shift the pressure back on the Rangers in Game 4?

But until the Game 4 dawns on them again, the Rangers have something great to cherish. They have become the highest team to have road wins in a single postseason. Their short back Corey Seager is inching closer to his childhood favorite Derek Jeter. It was the Ranger’s day.

When October was just about to start, they were not on anybody’s radar. Let aside record-setters. A month into the sport, everything about them has changed. They are fighting for the World title, again for the second time in the life of their team. Every match-up is a record for the world to know about.

What did the Rangers achieve in Game 3? They left behind the Nationals and Yankees in scoring wins in the host playground, leading by 9 in the postseason. Corey Seager stopped a 114.4mph grounder and took away a win from the D-backs. This happened after two back-to-back setbacks to the Rangers, first as Max Scherzer, then as Adolis Garcia. Both received injuries. But their Jon Gray did the exceptional, stood at the right time of the match, and took home the resounding victory. Texas has become a record as a win and has consecutive wins on the road.

Is Ranger’s Corey Seager inching close to his childhood favorite?

Seager was watching the New York Yankees classic Derek Jeter’s play on television during his kiddo days. For some fans, watching their favorite invokes a feeling of joy. Seager was dreaming of matching the play of Jeter one day. Now as the World Series is getting thriller, Seager is inching closer to Jeter, so about his dream. Coincidence? Luck? or hard work? Or the combination of all.

In Game 3, not only did his two run-homers in inning 3 set the winning tone for his team, but also added 2 more to his record. He is now just two short of 20 to match Jeter as shortstop.

“No matter where you are, we’re trying to play good baseball every day,” said shortstop Corey Seager. “I don’t know how to credit it to anything other than that.”
