Many regard Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time. He had a short but incredible NBA career spanning 14 years. However, he won and achieved almost everything as a player. Now, he is making a name in the business industry. It’s not easy to be compared to Michael Jordan. However, 20-year-old Wolves guard Anthony Edwards has been touted as the next Jordan by Patrick Beverley.

His Airness spent the majority of his career with the Bulls, winning two three-peats. However, his third stint in the NBA didn’t go as planned as he played for the Wizards. But his legacy in the NBA is among the greatest ever. Many players have been called the next Jordan in the past. But not many have survived the pressure to replicate the same as Jordan.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Patrick Beverley has been in the NBA for eight years now. He has seen a lot of players come and go. However, he feels Anthony Edwards, his teammate at Minnesota, could be the next Jordan.

Anthony Edwards touted as the next Michael Jordan by teammate Patrick Beverley

Minnesota Timberwolves star Patrick Beverley was recently on JJ Redick‘s podcast on YouTube. During the podcast, Beverley talked about his 20-year-old teammate at Wolves and claimed he could be the next Jordan.

“I told him, ‘Man. You got a chance, man. You got a chance, brother, to be Michael Jordan, brother, you really do,'” Patrick Beverley said.

“I’ve been around a lot of them, man. The kid (Anthony Edwards) doesn’t indulge in anything negative. You know what I mean, off the court he doesn’t indulge in anything negative. Just all positivity. All video games. His talent level and skill level, its crazy man. He has a chance to be really, really special in his league.”

Anthony Edwards is good and has been in top form this season for the Wolves. However, many would feel that it’s too early for the Jordan comparisons. But Beverley has played for several teams in the past and has a lot of experience in his hand. He has spent time with Edwards and if Edwards continues to grow at such a pace, he could surely be among the best in the league.

Anthony Edwards has played 59 games for the Wolves this season so far. In those games, he is averaging 21.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.
