The LA Clippers held on in the crucial minutes to register a victory against the Dallas Mavericks. The major buzz behind this game was due to the reason that this fixture could potentially present itself again in the first round of the playoffs. Following the win, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George who had separate press-conferences were asked about Luka Doncic and both players could not help but praise the talent in the young Slovenian.

Kawhi often gets labeled as the “fun guy,” but he doesn’t express himself much in front of the media. Similarly, when a reporter asked him about the Clippers’ experience of handling Luka Doncic this season, the two-time champion did not dwell into the matter too much and kept it precise and to the point.

“He’s a great passer,” Kawhi said of Luka. “He has the whole package. When you’re out there you have to be ready. And now Porzingis is out there healthy, moving well, and it’s a tough team,” he mentioned.

Luka is certainly establishing his dominance in the league at a tender age. Of course, he played for three years in Spain prior to joining the NBA. But, the level of competition he has surpassed in such a short time is leading people to believe that he is the main core of the Mavs team.

Paul George says the Dallas Mavericks have a “pure player” in Luka Doncic

Luka Doncic is a player who began shining in the league as soon as his entry into the Dallas Mavericks team. The 2019 Rookie of the Year has a lot of talent in his bag and is certainly a one for the future. Clippers star Paul George lauded Luka’s abilities after their victory against the Mavs.

“Luka is just a pure player, a pure all-around player,” George said. “He just does everything at a high level. He’s a guy that you have to game plan around,” he continued. “You see it tonight. He constantly put pressure on us.”

Doncic had a good outing against the Clippers, scoring 29 points in the game. The 21-year-old has a wide range of tricks up his sleeve, which makes it hard for any opponent to guard him. However, PG thinks the Clippers’ defense stood strong today in containing Luka Doncic.

“He [Luka Doncic] ended up with a big stat line tonight, but I think we made it as tough as possible for him,” George stated. The Dallas Mavericks saw their two best players carry the team on their back with brilliant plays around the court.

But the Clippers ended up as the winners to due contributions from every player who came off from the bench. This gave them the 15-point victory over the Mavericks, who struggled when Luka Doncic wasn’t there to facilitate plays on the court.
