The Ben Simmons saga has been one of the most talked-about topics during the off-season. However, even as the regular season has started, Ben’s situation remains unsolved and every day there’s a new twist in the tale. Recently, the Sixers suspended Ben from their season opener after a spat during practice.

The 25-year-old Australian reportedly declined to sub in for a drill during the Sixers’ practice session for the opening game. The Sixers then officially announced that Simmons will be suspended for one game due to a ‘conduct detrimental’ for the team.

All relevant entities from fans to former players have given their opinions on the situation. Recently, NBA commissioner Adam Silver also shared his thoughts on the situation. He felt that Ben Simmons’ current situation is affecting the image of the NBA.

Adam Silver feels Ben Simmons’ current situation is affecting the NBA’s image

NBA commissioner Adam Silver recently appeared in the ‘NBA on TNT‘ and talked about Kyrie Irving’s situation. He also talked about how the Ben Simmons saga is affecting the league’s image.

“I’d love to see Ben settle down and show everybody what he is capable of doing,” Adam Silver said.

“There is no doubt that there is so much more potential for him. He is a wonderful guy, and I hate the fact that this is how it is playing out. It is a bad look for him, and it is a bad look for the team, and certainly a bad look for the league.”

The NBA boasts some of the best athletes in the world. In the past, there have been several incidents of one star’s situation affecting their franchise and the NBA as a whole. Simmons may not be the first one in this situation in the NBA, but he has been the story of the summer due to the standoff between him and the franchise. Indeed, as Adam Silver said that overall, it portrays a bad image of him, the Sixers, and the NBA.

Despite having four years on his contract, Simmons decided to part ways with the Sixers during the off-season. However, it didn’t work and now Simmons has reported to the team. But Philadelphia 76ers will have to come to a decision sooner or later. Simmons, on the other side, isn’t happy with the situation either.
