Ben Simmons Heckled on Streets of Philadelphia in Unfortunate Scenes

Philadelphia 76ers hosted Brooklyn Nets as they chase the top spot in the conference. However, the fixture was hyped up as Ben Simmons made his trip to Philly for the first time since joining the Nets. Simmons’ long-awaited return to Philly certainly didn’t disappoint. Moreover, fans created a hostile atmosphere for their former star at the Wells Fargo Center.

Sixers fans booed Ben Simmons on his return to Philly. However, the boos stopped as the game progressed. Visitors Brooklyn Nets registered an emphatic win over the Sixers as they won 129-100. Kevin Durant (25) and former Sixers star, Seth Curry (24), led the scoring charts for the Nets against the Sixers.

While the Nets recorded a big win on Thursday, the biggest talking was Ben Simmons’ treatment by Sixers fans. Simmons is still working on his conditioning and is yet to make his Nets debut. But Sixers fans booed him during the warm-ups and jeered him for every shot he attempted at the Wells Fargo Center. However, an unfortunate incident happened when Simmons was boarding the bus.

Fans heckle Ben Simmons in Philadelphia

A short video clip has gone viral on social media in which fans are seen heckling Ben Simmons. The 25-year-old Australian was on his way to the bus when the incident happened.

Ben Simmons would have expected the atmosphere in Philly. However, the heckling incident was very unfortunate. But Simmons probably left the city happy as the Nets registered their 34th win of the season.

The Nets traded James Harden to the Sixers in exchange for Ben Simmons, Andre Drummond, and Seth Curry. Seth Curry scored 24 points against his former side. However, Harden had a disappointing night as he scored just 11 points in 29 mins. Simmons is yet to make start and is working on his conditioning at the moment.
