NBA megastar Shaquille O’Neal is full of praise for Denver Nuggets rookie Bol Bol.

The 7′ 2″ center from Sudan has played alongside O’Neal’s son, Shareef. It was when O’Neal spotted Bol Bol’s talent.

“I had the opportunity to coach Bol Bol with my son. Him and my son are similar, very talented. But when you jump on them, they go to work,” said the Los Angeles Lakers legend, talking on NBA on TNT.

“Bol Bol was doing stuff I’ve never seen before. I was like, ‘This kid right here has it.’ And I’m glad he’s with a guy like Mike Malone because Mike speaks our language.”

Bol Bol, son of former player Manute Bol, was the 44th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft. After spending some time in the G league, he started appearing on the Nuggets bench. Bol Bol caught eyes in the scrimmage games during the past week inside the Orlando bubble.

Shaquille O’Neal has previously praised Bol Bol

This is not the first time that Shaq has sung praises of Bol Bol. Last year, when Bol Bol was among the draft prospects, Shaq talked about the Oregon big man. Shaq even put him ahead of Zion Williamson, who would later be the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft.

“(Bol) and Shareef are friends and I’ve seen the potential what this kid can do,” Shaq told Complex Sports. “For example, when I was his coach in AAU, we never lost. He’s got it all. He’s (7-2), can shoot, dribble, can pass. Nobody really knows it because he was always hurt.”

“Zion is dunker, dunker, dunker, dunker,” O’Neal continued. “He ain’t gonna be able to do all that (in the NBA). I was the man in high school. I was the man in college. As soon as I got to the NBA, I was No. 50. I had to start (improving). I know (Williamson’s) a powerful dunker, but he’s going to have to develop something else.”
