While the trades and signings have been great, perhaps the biggest game changer has been the rule change in terms of calling fouls. The league which had been flooded with guards and scorers baiting for fouls, the NBA decided not to call soft fouls.

The biggest sufferers from the same has been the likes of James Harden and Trae Young. While the likes of Harden and Young are understandably disappointed, former Lakers’ forward Kyle Kuzma rejoiced the decision.

In a recent tweet, Kuzma lauded the league for making the decision, claiming that the rule change has been the best thing for the league in years. This is certainly a subtle taunt for the likes of Harden and Co.

This rule change has been massive so far. With Harden only attempting a total of 15 free throws, the effect is visible in the guard’s production as well who is only averaging 16.6 points, a career low for Harden in 11 seasons.

This massive dip in numbers might be concerning for many Nets’ fans. But if one person can make a comeback from this, it is Harden. While his free throws have been a big key for his production, he has multiple weapons like a lethal three pointers and a mid-range shot, to name a few. Expect to see a massive jump in the Beard’s production in a couple of weeks. Do you think Harden can make a comeback?
