Life in the NBA bubble can certainly be exciting. As much as the players need to focus, they need some time to relax as well. For Giannis Antetokounmpo, it is all about brotherhood inside the bubble.

All three Antetokounmpo brothers who are in the NBA, stay in the same hotel. The trio recently got together with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to engage in a casual chat while playing UNO.

Giannis and his elder brother Thanasis both play for the Milwaukee Bucks. His younger brother Kostas plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. Thus, all three brothers enjoy the same accommodation inside the same hotel in the NBA bubble.

When Rachel Nichols joined the brothers to play UNO, she knew it was going to get competitive.

“You guys are definitely close as any brothers I’ve ever seen. But you’re competitive as any brothers I’ve ever seen,” Nichols said. Thanasis then explained how all of them got the drive to compete at an early age.

Giannis then revealed how his family struggled when he and his brothers were growing up. As the ‘Greek Freak’ stated the heights that he and his siblings have reached, Kostas quickly clinched victory in the first game.

Upon facing defeat at the hands of his younger brother, Giannis swiftly turned himself into a media personality. The reigning MVP did not bother revealing the anonymity of the journalist and playfully claimed to be Rachel Nichols, the prominent sports journalist who was sitting right in front of him.

“‘Oh! He’s supposed to take the shot. He passed the ball to a wide-open teammate, but he was supposed to take the shot.’ That’s how it goes right?” Giannis said while pretending to be Nichols for a moment.

Moreover, the trio got to spend some quality time together in Milwaukee when the Coronavirus pandemic hit the world. Everyone was quarantined in Giannis’ house and here’s what he had to say about it:

“One thing the positive that came out of this is that we had a chance to be together for two months, two and a half months,” Giannis said. Then they began discussing the newest addition to the Antetokounmpo family.

Giannis’ son Liam is just a few months old now. However, he got to be around his uncles for a long period when the nation was under lockdown. Thanasis joked about it and said: “You get all the fun, but no responsibility!”

As the Lakers and the Bucks are on top of their respective conference tables, both teams got assigned the same hotel as per the NBA’s regulations.

Thus, it is a fun time for the three brothers as they wouldn’t have been closer to each other even when the world was functioning normally without the pandemic.

“Three brothers in the bubble. We supposed to have a TV show,” Giannis laughed. As they moved on to a discussion where Nichols questioned the possibility of a Lakers vs Bucks finals, Thanasis suggested that it would be a great idea for a book if it happened.
