The 1984 draft is considered by many as the greatest in NBA history. The 1984 draft featured legends such as Michael Jordan, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, John Stockton, among others. The first 16 picks included four future Hall of Famers. MJ was drafted 3rd overall and Hakeem was drafted 1st overall during the draft.

Not many would have imagined how the 1984 batch would turn out to be in the future. Houston Rockets got the opportunity to draft the first pick via a coin flip. Trail Blazers got the 2nd, and the Bulls got the third. The Rockets decided to draft Hakeem Olajuwon, while the Blazers passed up the opportunity to draft Jordan and instead drafted Sam Bowie. Bowie turned out to be a bust and remained injured for a long time in his career. The Bulls drafted Jordan and the rest, as they say, is history.
