The greatest point guard of all time? A debate that will go on forever. The NBA has seen some of the world’s best point guards in the past. The likes of Magic Johnson, Oscar Robertson, and Jerry West used to run the show in the past. Magic was so dominant that he was nicknamed ‘Point God’. However, the NBA keeps on producing talented point guards. Among the current batch of point guards, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, Damian Lillard, Ja Morant are some of the players who are the best in running the show for their respective teams.

Recently, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant ranked himself among the top five point guards in the game. He also revealed the top five point guards in the NBA and included Warriors star, Stephen Curry. However, to everyone’s surprise, Morant left out Mavs star Luka Doncic.

“Steph (Curry). I’m a big Chris Paul fan. I’d say Dame (Lillard) and (Russell) Westbrook. It’s tough. The point guard position is so loaded. Some guys have to get left out,” Morant told the ‘HoopsHype‘.

Indeed, it’s hard to pick the top five as the league is loaded with top-quality point guards. Stephen Curry is regarded by many as one of the best point guards of all time. He was already a top PG but last season; he took his role to a different level as he carried the team by himself to the play-in spots.

Luka Doncic, 22, is a generational talent. Imagine being called the best in your position at the age of 22. Morant didn’t include him in his top five, but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is unstoppable. Doncic has never gone past the first round of the playoffs. So, we’re yet to see a serious playoff run from him with the Mavs.
