31-year-old Klay Thompson has spent his entire career with Golden State Warriors since being drafted by them in 2011. Except for his rookie season, the Warriors have qualified for the playoffs in every season he has played. He was an integral part of the Warriors squad that won three championships in 2015, 2017, and 2018. However, Klay missed the last two NBA seasons because of injuries and his comeback date isn’t known yet.

DeMarco’s role at the Warriors is to work with the individual skill development of players. Warriors center James Wiseman recently shared a picture of him working with Chris DeMarco on Instagram. Klay Thompson reacted to the post, calling DeMarco slow.

Chris joined the Warriors as a video intern in 2012. During the 2014-15 NBA championship-winning season, Chris was the video scout for the team. His job was to help Steve Kerr and his coaching staff with opponent scouting reports and analysis. He became assistant video coordinator the next season. His current role shows how he has grown and evolved at The Bay.

Chris DeMarco took the reins as the player development coach after Kevin Durant’s departure and Klay Thompson’s injury. Klay Thompson has been out for two seasons now, having suffered a torn ACL during the Warriors’ NBA Finals against Toronto Raptors.

He successfully underwent surgery and came back after missing a season of basketball. Unfortunately, Thompson suffered an Achilles tendon injury ahead of the 2020-21 NBA season, ruling him out for the whole season.
