The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Dallas Mavericks in their first scrimmage game. However, LeBron James and the team bounced back in their second scrimmage game. The Lakers registered a seven-point victory over the Orlando Magic, but the victory came at quite a cost.

Anthony Davis was poked in the eye late in the first quarter, which made coach Vogel make him sit out for the rest of the game.

Moreover, the Head Coach of the Lakers provided an update on Davis’ current situation and also informed about the other players who took a knock during the scrimmage game against Magic.

Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet posted a Tweet that informed us about the injury status of the Lakers roster. Here is what Trudell wrote, “Vogel said Howard has been dealing with knee soreness, and Kuzma had an ankle tweak last game, while he may have held Davis out anyway after he got poked in the eye last game.”

This particular news is not what Lakers fans want to hear. Though AD will be back fit and ready for the crucial opener against the LA Clippers, the seriousness of Kuzma’s blow remains unknown.

Dwight Howard played 21 minutes in the scrimmage against Orlando and scored nine points and secured eight rebounds.

Kuzma, on the other hand, shone bright to establish his prominence in the team. The 25-year-old stood out in the game and scored a game-high 25 points.

His 71.4% three-point shooting with a rich field-goal average made him the most exciting player to watch on the court.

Frank Vogel gives an update on Lakers line-up against the Wizards

The Lakers play the Clippers in just a couple of days. Having players like Kuzma and Howard on the doubtful list is not good news for the team. Frank Vogel updated the media about the players who will sit out the Wizards game.

Bill Oram of ‘The Athletic’ reported on Vogel’s statement and updated the Twitter world about the status of the injured stars. “Frank Vogel says LeBron, AD, Dwight and Kyle Kuzma will all sit out of this morning’s scrimmage against Washington,” Oram wrote. “Kuzma dealing with slight ankle sprain, Vogel said, but would play in seeding or playoff game.”

The players need to rest in order to recover in time for the seeding games. Vogel also informed that he would have rested Anthony Davis for the game regardless of his physical condition.

King James will not be playing the scrimmage as well, which means Vogel is clearly saving the energy of his players for the upcoming seeding games.
