LeBron James’ Former Teammate Goes off on Michael Jordan: “I Hate That People Acknowledge MJ but Don’t Acknowledge Kareem or Wilt”

LeBron James and Michael Jordan have often been compared with each other in terms of greatness. But the GOAT debate involving them is never-ending. While the two have the utmost respect for each other, fans and media have been engaged in an endless debate. However, a former teammate of LeBron James at the Cavaliers, Channing Frye has an interesting opinion on the Jordan-LeBron debate.

His Airness was a ‘Bull’ through and through. He spent 11 years with the Chicago-based franchise and won six championships with them. LeBron James, on the other side, has played for three different teams so far, winning four championships. But James still has a lot to offer and could switch again as he dreams of playing alongside his son, Bronny.

Jordan and LeBron may be better than each other in some stat or awards list, but no one can deny that they’re among the greatest in the NBA. Former NBA star Channing Frye recently fired shots at people who don’t rate other NBA greats as MJ and James. Moreover, he came up with an interesting take on the Jordan-LeBron debate.

Channing Frye claims Michael Jordan and LeBron James are on the same level

Former NBA star Channing Frye recently appeared on ‘Road Trippin’ podcast. During the podcast, he slammed people who don’t acknowledge other NBA greats other than Jordan. He also said that Jordan and LeBron are 1A and 1b for him in terms of being the greatest.

“I hate that people acknowledge Michael Jordan, but don’t acknowledge Kareem or Wilt or any of the other greats,” Channing Frye said.

“And that they’re just like it’s Michael Jordan, or it’s LeBron… But the conversation between Jordan and LeBron when people make these like barbershop arguments. They go well ‘LeBron lost six times in the finals’. I was like, ‘Well, Jordan shot every time like all he did was shoot’.”

“Their reference turned into a big thing. Now if anybody ever listens to anything I ever say, I think in my world Jordan is 1A and LeBron is 1B. It just depends on where you grew up, how you grew up,” he added.

Channing Frye spent most his career with Phoenix Suns. However, he won his first and only championship with the Cavaliers while playing alongside LeBron. Frye has 14 years of experience in the NBA and has played alongside some of the best players in the game. But he stayed neutral on the Jordan-LeBron debate.

Frye focused on acknowledging other NBA greats as well, as they played an important in globalizing the game and the league.
