Michael Jordan Fan Dwyane Wade Calls Isiah Thomas the Greatest Player From Chicago: “He Was on the Pistons. And I Couldn’t Stand Them”

Isiah Thomas was one of the greatest point guards of his generation. He spent his entire career with Detroit Pistons and played an important role in winning two championships. Detroit Pistons were a dominant force in the NBA before Michael Jordan and his Bulls side took over.

Michael Jordan dominated the NBA for several years and delivered six championships to the city of Chicago. Jordan is the name associated with the city of Chicago when it comes to NBA fans. However, very few people know that Jordan was actually from Brooklyn, New York.

In fact, to everyone’s surprise, Isiah Thomas, who played for Bulls’ fierce rivals, the Pistons, was from Chicago. Isiah Thomas was born in Chicago and played for St. Joseph in Westchester in high school. Former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade has recently admitted that Isiah is the greatest player in Chicago.

Michael Jordan and Dwyane Wade calls Isiah Thomas the greatest in Chicago

Former Heat star Dwyane Wade recently sat down for an interview with the ‘Armchair Expert’. During the interview, he revealed that Isiah is the greatest player in Chicago.

“Isiah Thomas is from Chicago. He’s the greatest player in Chicago,” Wade said.

“Growing up, young, I didn’t grow up watching Isiah. So I didn’t really understand the Chicago connection at the time. I just knew he was on the Pistons and I couldn’t stand him. And I love him now.”

We all can relate to Wade, who realized later that Isiah is from Chicago. Wade is a big-time Jordan fan and grew up watching the Bulls win several championships during the 90s. Bulls had a fierce rivalry with the Pistons back then.

After his high school in Illinois, Isiah attended college in Indiana and made himself eligible for the 1981 draft. The Pistons drafted him as the 2nd overall pick and quickly signed him. That move paid off for the Pistons as they went on to win two championships with him.
