After a dismal 2020-21 season, the Lakers knew that they had to make some big moves for the upcoming season. Perhaps the biggest move the Purple and Gold made in the off-season was the trade for 2017 MVP Russell Westbrook.
Westbrook, who played with the Washington Wizards last year, had a great season with the Eastern Conference team. Averaging about a triple double, ‘Brodie’ is coming in for the Lakers to become the primary point guard and might have to focus a lot more of his game on playmaking this season.

While Westbrook is an incredible basketball player on the court, off the court, ‘Brodie’ generally is one of the most eccentric personalities. Often being seen with some of the most unique clothing, Westbrook is certainly a style icon.
Recently, the 2017 MVP took to social media and posted a picture of himself with a pretty unique get-up. While some lauded Westbrook, others resorted to trolling comparing the 32-year-old to the likes of former Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma.

While Tucker and Westbrook only played a single season together, the duo certainly admire each other. Both the players give it all on the court. This is evident when the likes of Tucker and Westbrook are defending. Given how driven and like-minded the duo are, the admiration is visible.

Both Tucker and Westbrook start new journeys this season. Coming off of a championship with the Milwaukee Bucks, many expected the former Rockets’ forward to re-sign with Giannis and Co. But in a shocking turn of events, former NBA finalists Miami Heat swept in and brought in Tucker. Given his incredible experience and grit, Tucker might fit seamlessly to the Heat setup.
As for Westbrook, the challenge only gets tougher. Playing alongside two of biggest superstars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Brodie will have to adjust his game accordingly. This is perhaps the best chance Westbrook might get to win a ring.
