NBA Fans Divided As Contentious Top 75 List Places Michael Jordan Above LeBron James

Narratives in the NBA media have been a constant. Be it the debates about who the best team in the league or else. But perhaps the biggest of them all is the GOAT debate between the likes of LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

Jordan who played in the era of bully ball was one of a kind. Playing in an era which was predominantly dominated by centers, MJ proved that why he was one of a kind as he established himself as the best player in the league dominating both ends of the floor.

Like ‘his Airness’, LeBron James also came with an enormous amount of hype. Coming straight out of high school, LeBron was compared to Jordan and was deemed as the heir to MJ’s throne. 18 seasons later, Bron is still at the top of his game and has established himself as ‘King James‘.

USA Today places Michael Jordan over LeBron James in all-time rankings

Ever since the GOAT debate has re-surfaced, media outlets have been keen on ranking the legendary players against one another. Be it Magic Johnson and Larry Bird from the 80s to even Hall of Famers like Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant, everyone makes the cut in the list.

Given how polarising these rankings can be, the ranking of LeBron James and Michael Jordan can never please all the fans. This time it was USA Today who came up with the list.

Ranking LeBron James second and Jordan as the best basketball player of all time, the list has divided fans all around the world. Especially, many LeBron fans were mad about LBJ not being named as the best player ever to play the game.

Over the years especially in the last decade, LeBron James has been at the top of his game and has had the accolades to back it up as well. While many argue that Jordan was the more dominant player, the counter to the same has always been the lack of a good supporting cast for James.

But with four NBA championships, 4-Finals MVP trophies and 4 championships, LeBron still has to make up in the trophy department to make a claim for being the GOAT. If LBJ can have match Jordan’s record by the end of his career, he can be the unanimous GOAT but can he catchup to Jordan remains to be seen? Who do you think is the Greatest of All-time?
