During his first retirement, Jordan sent shock waves into the sports world by signing a contract with the Chicago White Sox of Minor League Baseball.

His Airness decided to ply his trade in the Minor League Baseball for the Chicago-based side. He later revealed that his decision was influenced by his father’s dream of seeing him as an MLB player. In fact, Chicago Bulls’ owner was also the owner of the White Sox and it was smooth for Jordan to make the transition.

Jordan finally played for the Birmingham Barons, an affiliate of the White Sox, in 1994. He also played for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the 1994 Arizona Fall League. But he then came back to the Bulls and won another three-peat.
