Nick Nurse Reveals Why Players Like LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo Are Tougher to Guard Than Stephen Curry

NBA has changed a lot over the years. The current generation of players is some of the league’s best ever. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry are among the players who have often been compared with each other. James is in his 19th season in the NBA, while Durant and Curry are at their peak, all performing at the top level.

Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse has recently given his opinion on the toughest players to guard in the NBA. Nurse made an appearance in ‘The Old Man and the Three podcast’ with former NBA star JJ Redick.

During the podcast, Nick talked about his coaching journey in the organization. Redick then asked coach Nick about his thoughts on Warriors star Stephen Curry. Nick was all praises about Curry and admitted that he is very tough to guard. However, when asked about a tougher player to plan against than Curry, Nick had a handful of names.

Former sharpshooter in the NBA, JJ Redick asked Nick about Curry and others who are tough to guard. To this, Nick talked about LeBron and even added Harden and Durant‘s names to the conversation.

“Yeah, there’s a handful of them. As you know, he’s (Curry) really really tough without a doubt,” Nick Nurse said when asked about players tougher to guard than Curry.

“But you know who the other ones are. It’s really hard to figure out what to do with LeBron. He’s just seen, and he seems to see and beat everything. It’s hard to make him that uncomfortable. Be honest, really hard. (James) Harden, (Kevin) Durant. There’s quite a few of them, actually.”

Nick had the opportunity to coach against Stephen Curry and the Warriors during the 2019 NBA Finals. Nick’s Raptors defeated the defending champions, Golden State Warriors, in six games. It was the franchise’s first championship. Next year, Nick won the Coach of the Year and became the All-Star Games head coach.

Nick has also faced LeBron James and has received some heartbreaks from the four-time champion. In fact, King James has been dominant against the Raptors and has a record of 12-2 against the Canada-based franchise in the playoffs.
