Klay Thompson had a perfect reply to the Sacramento Kings, scoring team-high 23 points in the Warriors’ 126-114 home win. Klay had scored 52 points against the Kings in the 2015 season, also 35 points in the 2017 season.

In the post-game interview when he was asked about what is it about playing against the Sacramento Kings that brings out the best in you. He was quick to reply with a smile. He said, “Hey man, 2011 NBA Draft. With the 10th pick, the Sacramento Kings don’t select me, so… (Laughs) people don’t forget. That is what I’m gonna say.”

In 2011 draft picks, Sacramento Kings had the 10th draft right from the Bucks and drafted Jimmer Fredette. While Klay Thompson was playing at the same guard position was drafted by the Warriors on the 11th pick. Similarly, the Kings missed their chance to draft Stephen Curry in 2009, when they selected Tyreke Evans as the 4th overall pick, and Steph was selected by the Warriors as the 7th pick.

Both being so successful with the Warriors team might have hurt the Kings. In a recent game also, Klay scored 23 points, while Steph managed 20 points 7 assists. Klay was efficient from the range, draining 7 out of 9 three-pointers. His shot accuracy was 100% in the 1st quarter. (3-3 from the field)

With this win, the Warriors have won the 8th game in a row and are just 2 games behind top seed Phoenix Suns. They will play Oklahoma City Thunder next on 7th Feb.

As for the career stats, Thompson averages 19.4 points with 2.3 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. He made a strong comeback after his long-awaited return from a dreadful Achilles injury. This season he is averaging 16.3 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 10 games played so far.
