Many regard LeBron James as the greatest ever in basketball. In fact, James was already touted as the next big thing in the NBA even before he declared himself for the draft in 2003. James was the 1st overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2003 draft. Having said that, James’ career could have been different if he didn’t pick basketball.

King James played football during his high school days for St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. In fact, he played for two seasons and was one of the top prospects in the state of Ohio. However, he decided to stick to basketball in the end and it has been more than 20 years since he last played football at a competitive level.

His fans would be happy that he left football at high school itself, but it’s up to everyone to imagine what would have happened if he continued to play football instead of basketball. But James still has a love for the game and has even played football for recreational purposes. A rare video of LeBron James has resurfaced, in which he is seen playing football against Kevin Durant.

Rare video of LeBron James and Kevin Durant playing football against each other

A video of LeBron James has resurfaced on Twitter, where he is seen showing his football skills against Durant’s team. The clip is from 2011 when James used to play for Miami Heat and Durant was with the Thunder.

The clip is from the 2011 game called “LeBron’s Flag Football Classic”. LeBron and Durant played against each other at the University of Akron facility. According to Cleveland.com, Team LeBron featured LeBron and some of his local friends and Team Durant featured Durant and his friends from Texas.

Team LeBron emerged victorious in the game with a 78-63 win over Team Durant. Even after leaving football for more than a decade, James looked sharp in the game. It appeared he hadn’t lost his touch as his team won against Durant’s during the 2011 NBA lockout.
