Los Angeles Lakers lost 133-96 to Denver Nuggets on Saturday at the Crypto.com Arena. The 37-point loss is now LeBron James’ second-biggest loss in his entire career. The Lakers had big hopes this season with so many additions during the off-season. However, new signings such as Russell Westbrook have failed to adapt and have drawn criticism.
Westbrook started against the Nuggets but had another struggling night with 19 points in 26 minutes. LeBron James, as usual, led the scoring charts for the Lakers with 25 points. The huge loss sent shock waves around the world, drawing criticism from several stars.

Lakers legend Magic Johnson tweeted: “After being blown out by the Nuggets 133-96, we as Lakers fans can accept being outplayed but we deserve more than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency. Owner Jeanie Buss, you deserve better.”

Russell Westbrook reacts to Magic Johnson’s comments on Lakers 37-point loss vs Nuggets
Russell Westbrook appeared before the media after the game. He also reacted to Magic Johnson’s tweet on the Lakers’ loss vs. the Nuggets.
“I do not have a reaction,” said Westbrook.
“Everybody is entitled, in this world, to their opinion. Regardless of what that it is. You can either take it and run with it or you can take it and put it in one ear and out the other or you cannot respond to it.”
“Magic’s entitled to his opinion. And he’s not here every day. He’s not around us every day. He’s not aware of what’s going on internally with us and trying to figure things out. But I have no response to that. … Like I said, everyone in this world is entitled to their opinion and that’s that.”
This was the Lakers‘ 22nd loss in as many games this season. They are currently on .488 this season and sit 7th on the western conference table. The loss against the Nuggets was their 3rd straight loss in the league and their 5th in the last 10 games. LeBron James has been in insane form this season despite the Lakers’ woes. However, he can do only so much and without much help from the starters, he has been left frustrated at times.
