The world of sports has plenty of examples of players coming from a family of sportspersons. The NBA isn’t behind and it has seen several second-generation players in the league. One of the biggest examples of second-generation players is Stephen Curry and Seth Curry. The Curry brothers are sons of former NBA star Dell Curry.

Dell Curry played for several teams in the NBA during his career. But he spent the majority of his career in Charlotte, where he became the all-time points leader and 3-point leader for the Hornets. He retired in 2002 after spending two seasons with Toronto Raptors.

His elder son, Stephen Curry, started playing college basketball four years after his retirement. Curry used to play in high school for Charlotte Christian after Dell’s retirement. However, there was an incident during his high school days when he triumphed over his father, Dell, and since then Dell hasn’t played one-on-one with his sons.

Stephen Curry destroyed Dell Curry in his high school days

Seth Curry, younger brother of Steph, appeared in a recent episode of ‘All the Smoke’. During the podcast, he was asked if his father Dell can still compete in a shooting contest. To this, Seth said that Dell can still shoot, but he’ll never play one-on-one with Steph and Seth.

“No question, he can shoot it. He don’t wanna move around a lot. He definitely ain’t playing us one-on-one,” Seth answered when asked if his dad can shoot in a shooting contest.

“I think in high school, Steph beat him one-on-one. That was the last time he played either of us one-on-one.”

Curry had immense potential from his college days. He is a Davidson college graduate and in his final season with them; he averaged 28.6 points. In fact, that season, he became the NCAA scoring leader. However, he decided to opt-out of his final year at Davidson and declared himself for the 2009 NBA draft.

While Stephen was selected 7th overall in the first round of the draft, his younger brother, Seth, went undrafted in 2013. However, Seth managed to turn his career around and is now a regular starter with the Philadelphia 76ers.
