Philadelphia 76ers have been rather quiet in the offseason. Many NBA franchises are signing quality players through trades and free agency to increase their roster depth. However, the Sixers have signed just four players in the offseason. But they have been making noise in the off lately. The Sixers have just signed Grant Riller on a two-way contract for the coming season.

Grant Riller was drafted 56th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft by Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets. He signed a two-way contract with the Hornets and played for their G League affiliate, Greensboro Swarm.

Delaware Blue Coats have never won the championship in their history. However, they won the division title once, but that came in 2009 as an affiliate for Utah Jazz. Last season, they finished fourth with 10 wins and five losses.

Grant Riller has an incredible G League campaign last season. His addition would surely increase the Sixers’ squad depth for the coming season. Last season, Riller started in 11 of the 15 G League games for Greensboro Swarm. He posted 13.1 PPG, 1.7 RPG, and 3.5 APG last season for the Swarms in the 11 games he started. He also averaged .490 from the floor and .462 from the three-point range.

The Hornets gave Riller seven opportunities in the NBA last season, and he averaged 2.6 PPG. According to the NBA, a franchise can give two-way contracts to just two players with less than four years of NBA experience for a season. The two players with two-way contracts are usually the 16th and 17th players on the roster for the franchise.
