Perhaps the biggest move this off-season was the Lakers’ trading away many of their core players to bring a superstar in Russell Westbrook. Given that the team already had the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Westbrook certainly adds star power to the stacked Lakers side.

Not only did the Lakers’ make a move for ‘Brodie’, they have assembled some supporting cast. Be it bringing back players like Rajon Rondo and Trevor Ariza to adding former All-Stars like Carmelo Anthony and Dwight Howard, the Lakers have the most experienced side in the league.

Russell Westbrook reveals how influential Anthony Davis will be for the Lakers

While their star-power on paper is commendable, how will this Lakers’ side perform is still up in the air. The most important thing for the Purple and Gold to work will be the fit of the big three. Davis and Bron might be acquainted with each other, but they haven’t played with a guard like Westbrook.

Brodie‘ might chuck up shots, but there is no denying his incredible playmaking ability. Given that he will be the team’s primary point guard, it will the former MVP who will have to bring up the best of his teammates.

In a recent presser, the 32-year-old opened up about how big of a weapon Davis especially will be for the Lakers. “He’s an ultimate weapon you know. You got the ultimate weapon, it’s my job to utilize it to the best of my ability to make sure that you know AD and Bron whoever’s in the pick-and-roll are put in positions to be successful.”

Westbrook added, “That’s a part of my job and like AD mentioned, we’ve had many conversations today and passing open shots and looks and different ways where we can make the game easy for each other and that’s you know strictly what we’re trying to do and with that comes sacrifice and figuring out the best solution for the team.”

The 7-time All-Star certainly has had a history of bringing the best out of big men. Given the likes of LeBron and AD with the Lakers, Westbrook finally has fellow superstars to rely on for the first time since 2016. Will Westbrook finally win his first championship with the Lakers?
