Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is regarded by many as the best player in the NBA. He has won two NBA championships in his career and was the Finals MVP on both occasions. However, he missed out on an entire season and came back to action in 2020. Durant is very close to his mother Wanda Durant, who has supported him through thick and thin.

However, there’s little or no information about Durant’s girlfriend. But he has previously been in a relationship that became official in 2013. Outside of the US, Monica plied her trade in Poland, Turkey, Australia, South Korea, and Iceland. However, after just six years of her professional career, she faced a long-term knee injury and Perth Lynx released her. She then turned towards coaching and her first assignment was at Liberty University. In 2019, the Virginia Cavaliers basketball team hired her as their assistant coach. Kevin Durant and Monica Wright’s relationship

The former WNBA point guard was in a relationship with Kevin Durant when he used to play for Oklahoma City Thunder. The couple got engaged back in 2013 after spending some time with each other. However, their relationship didn’t last long, and the couple broke up.

Monica Wright once revealed why their relationship didn’t work and they broke up after being engaged.

“In my last relationship (with Kevin Durant), I had to make a decision about compromising myself as a woman. I had to make a decision to leave a relationship, which a lot of people thought I was crazy to leave. There was a lot of criticism over it. But I think God had my back in it. Because I hold to what I know to be true, that is what God will reward instead of what people on the earth think is a good catch,” Monica told Risen Magazine.

Nets star Durant is rather quiet about his love life. In fact, he barely talks about his relationship in public. However, in this situation, Durant had something to say as well. Two years after his engagement with Monica Wright, Durant revealed that they broke up because he ‘didn’t love her the right way’.

“I had a fiancée (Monica Wright), but… I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways,” Durant told the GQ Magazine.
