King James once again led the Lakers to a victory with a commanding performance. He is the Lakers player with the most points per game this season (28.6). He is followed by Anthony Davis (23.3 PPG), who is out injured due to an MCL sprain. Due to Davis’ injury, the Lakers had to change and adjust their system.

Not just this, LeBron James and other players are playing more minutes than they were. While this may be good for the youngsters, it may result in injury for the veterans. James, for example, has played the most minutes per game (36.9) in the Lakers team. He recently talked about playing more minutes due to Anthony Davis’ absence.

“And obviously, without AD, we’ve all had to pick up in some ways that we probably didn’t beforehand. So that’s doing more of the rebounding, doing more screening, doing more taking charges, doing more blocks, trying to block shots. And also picking up a few more minutes as well.”

Indeed, James has taken up a different role since Davis’ injury and has even started playing in the center. But the Lakers have really struggled this season and are yet to mount a proper title challenge.

James has been carrying the Lakers this season despite having one of the best rosters in the NBA. Westbrook hasn’t settled in well with the Lakers and has underperformed in several games. The Lakers are currently on .513 and will face Atlanta Hawks next, who themselves are struggling to make a mark this season.
