Throughout his life, late NBA legend Kobe Bryant earned recognition for being not only a great basketball player but also a seemingly perfect ‘girl dad’. Bryant was often looked at as a family fan, who always ended up prioritizing his family. Bryant and his wife Vanessa had four daughters, who have made countless appearances with the two during events.

Of course, Bryant has often spoken about his family during interviews. With young daughters at home, the Los Angeles Lakers icon had all kinds of interesting stories to share, some including Disney and Dora the Explorer.

Back in 2017, Bryant was on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While the NBA icon and host discussed countless topics, Fallon ultimately focused on Bryant’s time at home.

Additionally, since Bryant’s youngest daughter Capri was born in 2019, the interview was filmed when Natalia was 14, Gianna was 10 and Bianka was four months. And as per Bryant’s confirmation, that warranted a couple of sleepless nights for him and Vanessa.

“I think I do. Until they actually come in the room” Bryant replied when asked about the TV control. While he might watch what he wants for some time, he is ultimately asked to ‘give it up’.

The five-time NBA Champion also added that as Disney was a clear winner, they watched Stuck in the Middle a lot. Fallon even jumped in with some additional points about Dora the Explorer, who he is glad they are over the show.

A little more on Bryant’s career

Furthermore, Bryant was only one year into retirement during the interview. Having played 20 seasons with the Lakers, Bryant retired in 2016 after his iconic 60-point game against the Utah Jazz. The highlight remains his five NBA titles – one three-peat (2000-2002) and one two-peat (2009, 2010). He even won the NBA MVP award in 2008, along with 18 All-Star selections.

Having said that, Bryant’s presence online (and offline) always celebrated the fact that he was a proud girl dad. His Instagram is flush with supportive and doting posts, always encouraging his children. Of course, Vanessa Bryant has kept that very theme alive through her own account after Bryant passed away in 2020.
