BCCI stands by Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur for Arjuna Award.

According to PTI report, India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara is yet to be commemorated with the highly prestigious Arjuna award in the month of August this year for the first time. Since one of the Indian Cricket men, Pujara is all set to be staged with such prestigious honour, the women cricket team doesn’t really seem to fall short to this running. Applauding such honorary feat of being nominated for Arjuna award, Indian spectacular batswoman, Harmanpreet Kaur left her footstep for other athletic women to be remembered forever as a pioneer. Both these cricketers, Pujara and Kaur have been recommended by BCCI (Board of Cricket Council of India) for such esteemed accolade of Arjuna award. “We have sent Cheteshwar and Harmanpreet’s name for the Arjuna award,” a senior BCCI official is quoted as saying by PTI.

“The names have been forwarded to the Ministry of Sports. Both have been exceptional performers during last season and were unanimous choice from our end.” BCCI officials added. Harmanpreet Kaur had been a real game changer as a batswoman through out the series against Australia last year and also took the pride on her expensive inputs in Women’s Asia Cup triumph.

On the other end, Pujara, on the purview of his batting faculties cropped up as one of the most pragmatic batsman for India exclusively in their recently concluded Test series against Australia. Especially while Virat Kohli was going through a slump in his form that was Pujara who stepped in to the middle of an inimical circumstances and made a magnificent statement through his 202 runs in 672 balls.

Pujara’s fame as Test cricketer has always been flying high in the sky but he somewhere breaks down to retain his fortune in the short format of skipper. He is often seen getting constrained with his performance in such format of Cricket. Just like the way he is worldwide acknowledged as “Test Specialist”, he yearns the same prestige in T20 cricket as well. This year his fate so far didn’t go well as he went on being unsold in the 10th season of IPL. The match saving performance showed by Pujara against Australia in the latest concluded test was regarded by skipper Virat Kohli to be the most appropriate double tons for India’s dominant triumph over their adversary, the Kangaroos.
