Fans of the franchise waited 5 years for a new Halo series game, with Halo 5: Guardians having released back in 2016. Halo Infinite might not be the only Halo game to arrive in the near future

According to a job posting on Microsoft’s official website, 343 Industries is reportedly looking for a new producer. The job, based out of the American developer’s office in Redmond, Washington, needs the producer to develop a game in the Halo Universe.

“343 Industries is looking for a Producer to help develop a new project in the Halo universe. This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams.”

Even though no new Halo game has been released since the launch of the arcade spinoff Halo: Fireteam Raven, Microsoft is set to put the Halo franchise on the pedestal of Xbox exclusives and create a whole new universe like it did for the Xbox One.

What the new game might be about

It is still unclear which series the game will be about. Players already suspect that Xbox is already laying the groundwork for the next Halo game for next generation consoles. Some others suspect that it might be the return of their strategy series, Halo Wars, with its third installment. Yet another group suspects that they might simply develop multiplayer for Halo Infinite.

Fans hope for a better release than Halo Infinite after the debacle it endured during the Xbox Series X showcase. The game fared pretty badly after its 10 minute showcase received ridicule for its poor graphics. Because of its poor showing, the developers delayed the game till late 2021. Still, the franchise seems to head in a new direction, as Halo takes center stage for the Xbox Series X.
