21-year-old Chloe Kim just made history at the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022. Following up her Gold Medal win at the 2018 Olympics, Kim became the first woman to defend her Gold Medal at a snowboarding halfpipe event.

In fact, she joined Shaun White as the only two athletes to have achieved this feat. Now, with her victory, also come the congratulations from athletes and celebrities. Kim made a fantastic run to secure her Gold Medal today.

Shaun White, Nina Dobrev congratulate Chloe Kim for historic Olympic win

Shaun White, the only other snowboarder to have successfully defended their Gold Medal at the Olympics, congratulated Chloe Kim on Instagram. Reposting Team USA’s official Instagram post on his Instagram story, White wrote “very well deserved,” congratulating Kim.

Additionally, White’s girlfriend, popular American actor Nina Dobrev, also congratulated Kim for her win. She reposted Chloe’s victory post by Team USA, along with a string of clapping emojis for Kim. She also wrote “Yes!!! Congrats”, recording Chloe as she won the Gold, on the television

Moreover, Paralympic Gold and Silver medal winner Mike Schultz, too, congratulated Chloe Kim. He commented on Team USA’s post, writing “so pumped for Chloe!!!”

American skateboarder Nyjah Huston was one of the athletes who rejoiced over Chloe Kim’s win at the Beijing Winter Olympics. He wrote, “She really did that…back to back! Congrats girl” on his Instagram story.

Even Michael Phelps, inarguably the greatest olympian of all time, congratulated her on his Instagram story., writing “congrats!!!”

Two-time Olympic Gold medalist Gabrielle Thomas and the third-fastest woman in the world, took to Twitter to laud Chloe Kim. Maybe I should start eating churros before competition too? she wrote, referring to Chloe Kim’s professed love for the snack.

Moreover, Chinese skiing Gold Medalist Eileen Gu congratulated Chloe on her landmark triumph. Gu took to Instagram to write “Chloe Kim did it again!!! So proud to have you as a friend, inspo (inspiration) and big sister all in one”. Notably, Gu herself received a similar praise when her childhood idol in Olympian Jeanee Mauzy wrote a heartwarming message on Instagram.

The 25-YO Olympian shared a beautiful story where a 10-YO Gu had once expressed her fandom for Jeanee. Today, an 18-YO Gu is in a position to receive congratulatory message from her inspiration.

Kim dominated the halfpipe event

Entering as the defending Gold Medalist, Kim was more mature and confident than ever as she took to the slopes.

Chloe Kim was the clear favorite to win the Gold this time in Beijing, and she did not disappoint. She snowboarded her way to the very top in the qualifiers, gliding to the finals with a remarkable 87.75 score.

Furthermore, she kept her phenomenal momentum going as she scored 94 points in the halfpipe event. This was the highest score in the event, which deservedly earned her the Gold medal.

However, things nearly went bad for Kim, as she went for a 1260 trick on her second run. After all, she led by a huge margin and could afford to take the risk. Sadly, she fell down, missing the 1260 by a hair’s breadth.

All in all, Kim scripted history today with her second Gold Medal at the age of 21.
