Following a glittery career at UFC, Cyborg notched the Bellator world title in her promotional debut against Julia Budd at Bellator 238. That said, a win over her would enrich anyone’s resume. While the Brazilian continues to inspire several MMA fighters, some of them seemingly want to square off against her. And Cat Zingano is clearly one of them.

Can Cat Zingano defeat Cris Cyborg?

Cat Zingano has secured some of the biggest wins of her MMA career against Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes in the UFC. However, Cyborg won’t be an easy opponent to take out.

Considering Zingano’s recent run in the sport, she will be a massive underdog in the fight. Despite that, Zingano has been optimistic about giving a hard time to Cyborg.

Speaking with MMA Junkie, ‘The Alpha’ gave her opinion on several topics, including her Bellator debut. Since she and Cyborg hail from UFC and are regarded as two of the biggest superstars, she could not rule out an inevitable comparison.

“Fighting Cris has been in my radar before I was in UFC,” said Zingano.

Recalling an incident from the past, she added, “I remember seeing her at a tournament in Colorado when I was still a 125er. And I was just telling the story last night. First time I ever saw her in person because she was a guest at the tournament.”

“I was like I am gonna go and tell her. I am gonna introduce myself and tell her, I wanna compete against her and I don’t even know she would remember this because I was just a jiu-jitsu, probably a blue belt at the time.”

Well, Cat Zingano is not the only one who has been influenced by Cyborg. UFC contender Sabina Mazo had something similar to say.

In a recent interview, she said, “It’s been amazing. For me, it’s been a great experience. I have learned a lot from her (Cyborg) as a fighter, as a person, and one of the things I feel like I have learned in the past months, a lot from her is like her attitude.”

Till date, Cyborg remains to be the source of inspiration for umpteen individuals.
