Benoit Paire Knocked Out By Roberto Bautista Agut at the Wimbledon Championships 2019

Roberto Bautista Agut cruises past through Benoit Paire 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in the round of 16 of the Wimbledon Championships 2019.

The two were meeting each other for the 8th time in their career with Roberto Bautista Agut having a clear head-to-head record of 7-0 against Benoit Paire.

The no. 22 seeded, Roberto Bautista Agut reached the fourth round after beating Peter Gojowczyk 6-3, 6-2, 6-3 in the first round. He then went onto win the other two rounds in a similar fashion beating in Steve Darcis and Karen Khachanov in straight sets.

However, Benoit Paire did not have a smooth run till the fourth round of the Championships 2019. He reached the round of 16 after defeating Juan Ignacio Londero in four sets, Miomir Kecmanovic who retired after two sets and Jiri Vesely in four sets.

Roberto Bautista Agut continued his dominance over Benoit Paire in the first set as he held his all service games during the first set and broke the Frenchman once to conquer the first set 6-4.

The two players exchanged a break earlier in the second set. Both the players then held their serve till 5-5 when the Spaniard broke Benoit Paire for the third time in the match to get a lead of 6-5. Serving for the second set, Roberto Bautista Agut held his serve and captured the second set 7-5.

Roberto Bautista Agut then shifted the gear as he took control over the match, breaking Paire twice to get an early lead of 3-0 in the third set. Both the players then held their service games till the end of the set. However, it was the Spaniard who held his serve and won the set 6-2 to reach the last 8 at the All England Lawn Tennis Club after missing the prestigious event in 2018.

Roberto Bautista Agut will face the winner of the match between Milos Raonic and Guido Pella in the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon Championships 2019.
