Andy Murray keeps fighting against all odds

At the Australian Open 2019, Murray played against Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round and lost. Back then, Murray had announced that he would need hip surgery and that it could be his last match on the Tour, ever. It was an emotional affair and the Australian Open paid tribute to one of the true greats of our generation. To see him now, compete in Melbourne again is truly a treat for any tennis fan, including Dimitrov.

Dimitrov spoke on this topic and stated, “May he wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I knew there was a big portion of him wanted to try everything possible to come back. He’s not one of the guys who would give up and say I’m done. It’s extraordinary what he’s able to do after that. I saw him moving on the court, yes it’s exactly not the same, it’s staggering. Honestly, it’s amazing for me to see. I think for everybody, not just for me.”

The 30-year-old further added, “You have to put yourself out there every day and the procedure you have to go through. He has to spend 3-4 hours every day just to take care. To have a family, kids and to balance that act is amazing… For the moment, we can admire what he’s able to do.”
