Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James no doubt has had a phenomenal NBA career so far. ‘The King’ has won 4 NBA championships so far, with 3 different teams. The last championship he won was in 2020 with his current team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

With all the things James is able to do on the court, he is quite the businessman off the court as well. He has created an entire empire for himself, becoming a mogul in the industry. But with all the things LeBron is able to pull off in games, he has made some great decisions to further himself as a businessman as well.

Top business deals according to LeBron James

On the show ‘Kneading Dough’, LeBron was interviewed where he was asked about his best business decisions so far. To this question, LeBron stated the best deals he ever was a part of. They included his lucrative deal with Nike and also collaborating with Beats.

Upon entering the league, LeBron signed a 7-year $90 Million deal with Nike. He rejected a $110 Million deal from Reebok and a $70 Million deal from Adidas stating, ‘I’m a Nike guy.’ When LeBron signed the deal with Nike, he became the player with the highest-paying shoe deal with a brand in the league. As of now, LeBron leads the board by being the highest-paid player who is still playing in the league.

After his contract with Nike ended, LeBron then signed a lifetime contract with Nike in 2016. The contract will pay him more than $1 Billion over the years.

King James and Beats by Dre

Another deal that LeBron mentioned when asked about his best business decisions was with Beats by Dre. A high-end headphone brand, LeBron struck a deal to get a small stake in the company. And after the acquisition of Beats by Apple, James made a profit of $30 Million. This became one of the biggest payouts for an athlete in history.

LeBron was also asked if there was a business decision that he ended up regretting. To that, he mentioned a property he had bought in Las Vegas during his days with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

James has really lived up to his nickname on the court. But ‘The King’ has also made some excellent off-court decisions that has made him a billionaire.
