In a recent podcast, Eugenie Bouchard talked about how she she improved her game and fitness during the quarantine. She said, “I just got to spend a lot of time to spend at home training, working in the gym a lot, got really strong, spent a lot of time on the court. I got to take that time to improve things that normally in the year, we don’t have time because our schedule is like ten months a year. In a weird way, I think quarantine was like a blessing in disguise for me personally.”

Bouchard’s performance at the Prague Open may signal a comeback to the top of tennis. Back in 2014, the Canadian was in outstanding form as she reached her first Grand Slam final which came at the Wimbledon. Besides that, she also reached a career-high ranking of World No. 5.
She played great tennis in 2014 but didn’t follow up on that in the years that followed. At the moment, the Canadian is World No. 330 which is far from where she wants to be. She wants to enter the top 10 again and she can do that by winning the upcoming events.
