Jon Jones has done it again. Recently, the top-ranked pound for pound UFC fighter was arrested on four different counts. These include aggravated DWI, negligent use of firearms, possession of an open container, and no proof of insurance in the vehicle. Jones’ arrest comes just 2 months after he believed that his run-ins with the law were over.

Arresting officer reveals troubling details regarding Jon Jones

Brown says he saw an opened alcohol bottle on the floor of the car. Brown also revealed that Jones had a leafy green substance on his clothes, consistent with marijuana. When asked for his registration Jones, who smelled of alcohol, seemed unable to find his papers. “I requested the assistance of a DWI officer who placed Jones under arrest,” said Brown.

DWI officer Brian Johnson concurred with Officer Brown’s statement about the alcohol odor, adding that Jones “had bloodshot, watery eyes.” He wrote,” Jonathan did field sobriety tests and performed poorly on all three of them.” Jones also performed poorly on two out of three alternative tests following which he was searched and arrested.

Brown revealed that an inventory of Jones’ vehicle led him to discover a sound round just outside the driver’s door. A black handgun was later found beneath the driver’s seat. Police said they would test Jones’ gun to determine whether it was used in any other crime.

The UFC issued a statement saying that they were aware of Jones’ latest transgressions. “We have been in contact with Jones’s management team and are currently gathering information.” Jones is no stranger to legal issues. He was previously charged with a DWI 8 years ago. 3 years later, in 2015, he was convicted of a hit and run charge. Last October too, he pled no contest to disorderly conduct.
