Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone is now one of the most recognizable actors in the world. However, his success wouldn’t have been possible without his ‘Rocky’ franchise taking over the movie business by storm. Stallone’s boxing franchise is currently one of the highest-grossing ones with over $1.5 billion in revenue over the course of all its movies.

While one could argue that Stallone put the franchise on his back and carried a lot of the weight of its success, it would be foolish to claim that he was the only one who was responsible for the movie’s success. His co-actress Talia Shire, who played Sly’s girlfriend and wife, Adrian Balboa, was also a fan favorite. Moreover, even after years since the movie was released, the popularity of the pair is still unprecedented.

Lastly, one fan hilariously claimed that Shire was his first crush. “My first crush as a kid” he wrote

The fans were more than happy to see Stallone and Shire together, even after all these years. The role of Adrian was very important in Rocky as she was his support through hard times. The two would also get married in the movies, but Shire was cut off from the franchise in Rocky Balboa. It was revealed that Adrian had died off-screen after battling cancer. Despite this being a blow to fans, Stallone gave his reasonings to why he felt it was time to write off her character.
