Fitness influencer and bodybuilding enthusiast Kali Muscle became one of the early influencers in the fitness community. His freakish physique and athleticism attracted people’s attention, and not all of it was positive. Many branded Kali Muscle a fake natty for his pro bodybuilder-like physique. While the fitness influencer denied the allegations and often hit out at haters, everything changed in 2021.

The bodybuilding influencer suffered a life-threatening heart attack in 2021. After recovering from the incident, the 48-year-old came clean about his steroid use. He also vowed never to touch them again. The influencer also decided to promote clean eating after his brush with death. However, he received backlash for villainizing whey protein, going on watermelon fasts, and now for giving out misleading information.

IFBB Pro exposes how clueless Kali Muscle is about his products

IFBB Pro Marc Lobliner made a video on Instagram calling out Kali Muscle for spreading dietary misinformation. The Pro bodybuilder uploaded a video by Kali Muscle where the 48-year-old said pistachios were not good for health. Chuck ‘Kali Muscle’ Kirkendall said the sunflower oil and citric acid added to the pistachios made them unhealthy.

“Citric acid, they take from mold,” said the fitness influencer. However, Lobliner pointed out that as the owner of a supplement company, Kirkendall had no idea the products he cells also had citric acid.?“Perhaps the greatest self-own I?ve ever seen,”?wrote Lobliner in the caption while he face plamed in the video. He also burst out laughing before telling others not to listen to fitness influencers.

“Many of these influencers are just in it for the money and have no idea what they?re peddling,” said the bodybuilder. He also said most influencers often own only 1% of the supplement companies in their names. According to the IFBB Pro, the 48-year-old’s video was the?“most glaring example,”?of why he continues to warn people. He also mentioned why Citric acid is not bad for health.

A natural substance used for preservation

The 42-year-old Pro said those who became concerned about citric acid after viewing Kali Muscle’s post didn’t need to worry.?“Citric Acid is a natural preservative and flavoring component found in many of our favorite citrus fruits,” Lobliner wrote in the caption. He also cited the health benefits of the substance.

Lobliner wrote that acid is a major component of the Krebs Cycle, which produces ATP and promotes digestion. This isn’t the first others have scrutinized Kali Muscle for his dietary choices. Former Canadian National champion and IFBB Pro Greg Doucette also criticized Kirkendall’s watermelon fast.
