But in the latest edition of Arnold’s Pump Club, he decided to give some scientific research and advice on why people should be strength training every day.

The first few lines of the newsletter are under the heading called “stat of the week” and it reads, “Like strength, power is a “use it or lose it” ability that can disappear quickly. While strength declines around 1 to 3 percent annually after age 55, if you’re not strength training, power disappears at a rate almost double that.”

This is quite alarming given the fact that in recent times most people are doing work from home or having jobs that require them to sit for a long period of time. According to the Austrian Oak, power is extremely important for maintaining muscle and preventing the decline of own health. This is alarmingly also associated with intelligence as a person ages.

However, he also assures people that there is nothing to be scared of because there is good news. The only thing that people need to do is resistance training, which can offset these losses and you can build strength and power even when you are 80 years old. Arnold always gives the complete truth rather than sugarcoating anything even if it scares people, but he also makes sure to give the good news along with it. In the past, he has also called for unique remedies like social connections to maintain longevity.

Social connections can alarmingly increase your life

In another edition of Arnold’s Pump Club, Schwarzenegger shed light on the fact that there are 148 studies that support the claim that there is a powerful correlation between social connections and longer life. He had a section in the newsletter that read on how to add 7 years to someone’s life.

Here he gave scientific evidence and said that researchers have found that individuals with solid social relationships live more. So, it is more beneficial to have healthy social relationships than to invest in pricey medicines and high-tech solutions. He wrote, “Longevity supplements get all the buzz, but more time in the friend zone is what you need if you want to live longer. A review of 148 studies found that people with strong social relationships are associated with living up to 7 years longer.”
