Dr. Mike Israetel, aka the exercise scientist, is known for harshly judging celebrity workouts. Recently, he shared an intriguing video on his YouTube channel, Renaissance Periodization, where he was seen passing his verdict on Dave Bautista’s workout with coach Joe Bennett.

Joe Bennett, also known as the Hypertrophy coach, has trained Bautista, a former WWE athlete and Hollywood actor. In what was a rare occurrence, the Hypertrophy coach’s training methods seemed to impress Israetel.

Mentioning how Bautista was lucky to have Bennett as his coach Israetel added, “Because he could have some of the other clown sh*t trainers that we have exposed on this channel.” The fitness influencer highlighted how Bennett focuses on the form and technique of the exercise and hits exactly the muscles you’re supposed to hit. “If Joe Bennett’s available as a trainer, I would absolutely endorse him as somebody you should definitely hire,” Israetel advised Hollywood.

Wide taper with big lats and shoulders like that is exactly what you want your trainer to say when your job is in Hollywood to play a superhero,” says the Exercise Scientist spotlighting the knowledge of the hypertrophy coach. According to Mike, Bennett’s idea of letting Bautista talk through the warm-up sets and then playing heavy metal music when he’s performing working sets made a lot of sense.

For the professor to praise someone is a very unusual event. Earlier, he had praised Chris Hemsworth, aka Thor’s fitness brand.

On the other hand, the Exercise Scientist gave the program an A or A- rating.  “I think the MVP of this video—well, there’s two of them. There’s Mr. Zachi and there’s Mr. Bob. And they just did a great job all around.”
