“Don’t Know Where You Guys Get That Information”: Bodybuilding Icon Mike O’Hearn Slams Fans Over Theories on Veteran Bodybuilder’s Routine

Nowadays, bodybuilders often use their social media handles to hold interactive sessions with their fans. Similarly, veteran bodybuilder Mike O’Hearn recently held a Q&A session for his fans on YouTube. While overall, the session was quite productive as the Titan shared several useful workout tips and insights. The session also had an emotional edge to it as the veteran reminisced some of the tales from the past.
However, at one point in the segment, O’Hearn nearly lost his cool on a fan. It happened when one fan questioned him while spouting random theories about a bodybuilding veteran’s workout routine. Such was the case, that O’Hearn came back to the question to answer it for a second time to rubbish the claim.

On 11 May 2023, Mike O’Hearn posted the recorded clip of his live session with fans on YouTube. Herein, the Titan slammed a fan for making theories about Tom Platz’s routine. The fan had asked, “How do you feel about the Platz method, where it’s one or two sets to failure with a long rest for the muscle group?” Refuting his statement, the 54-year-old said, “No! That’s not how he trained. Yeah, that’s not how I train with Platz. What are you talking about?”

Continuing reprimanding, he added, “I don’t know where you guys get that information. Yeah, we’d work up to sets and then we’d go back and forth three four five six seven uh there was a time we did 10 sets of 20 on squats…I do like the idea that he said uh long rest yeah. I think it was longer. Definitely, it was longer than what people do today because I noticed that people today feel like if they wait 30 seconds.”

However, the veteran admitted that he too gets impatient sometimes. It’s during those times that he reminds himself to “chill.” Furthermore, during the session, O’Hearn revealed the body part one should focus on while training.

During the session, Mike O’Hearn shed light on the importance of training the hamstrings. The veteran revealed that after spending decades in the fitness and health industry, he realized one should focus on training the hamstrings for two reasons. Firstly, he asserts that’s where real athletic abilities come from.
Secondly, hamstrings also play a major role in attaining longevity. He added that as one grows old, one needs strong hamstrings to keep the knees healthy. Knee issues are the most common problems people face as they grow old. Therefore, O’Hearn has revealed how one can take the reign instead of submitting to the pain.

Mike O’Hearn is a bodybuilder and fitness icon who wants to be remembered for his longevity. At the rate at which the veteran is going, with his jacked physique at 54 and valuable tips, it isn’t a far-fetched dream.
