Berry de Mey aka the Flexing Dutchman reigned the bodybuilding arena in the 1980s. His name is taken along with Arnold Schwarzenegger for winning the IFBB Mr. Europe senior competition despite being a junior at the event. Though he had a lot to achieve in the field, an injury cut short his bodybuilding journey in 1989. However, the fitness enthusiast still hits the gym and lifts weights.

He took to coaching rookie bodybuilders and posting his gym sessions on his Instagram page with 99K followers. And a recent post of his ripped physique left fitness enthusiasts stunned, and they left their comments on the post.

The Hall of Famer was seen flaunting his biceps in the video before filming his abs. “Why not? #flexing #holiday #abs,” he captioned the post. His followers appreciated the post by showering compliments on the 61-year-old Dutch bodybuilder in the comment section.

Thrilled by the de Mey’s physique, a commenter posted, “A 60-year-old in a 20s bodybuilder body. Just amazing.” A admired complimented the bodybuilder, “Fantastic condition Berry. Looks very younger.” While a hilarious comment read, “Not bad for a grandad.”

De Mey’s physique had a lot of admirers back in the day, and signifying the same, a user wrote, “Always a magnificent physique!” A cheerful fan said, “Berrydemey sir got big guns.” Not just impressing his fans in his sixties, the Flexing Dutchman also had a rewarding bodybuilding career back in the day.

The Dutch bodybuilder entered the bodybuilding scene at the young age of 17 when he took part in the Mr. Ironman competition in 1979 and won the event. He later topped the IFBB Junior Mr. International, in 1980. But 1982 was a remarkable year for the Flexing Dutchman as he joined the club with the Austrian Oak after winning IFBB Mr. Europe show, a senior competition, despite being a junior at age 20.

He then ventured into 1986 Mr. Olympia and was placed 5th in the competition. He outperformed himself and stood 3rd in the 1988 version of the event only behind Lee Haney and Rich Gaspari.
