The topic of natural bodybuilding vs. enhanced bodybuilding has been a subject of debate for a long time now. Fitness YouTuber and bodybuilder Jeff Nippard, who emphasizes individuals’ staying natural, recently made a video educating his audience about ‘How much muscle can you build? (Natural vs. Enhanced)

While Nippard believes that an individual should think twice before hopping on gear, he ultimately stated that it is a personal choice whether someone wants to stay off the steroids or use them. His stance advocates for an informed choice when it comes to performance-enhancing drugs.

The allure of muscle hypertrophy at a fast pace and constantly hitting PRs in the gym often tempt some individuals to turn to using performance-enhancing drugs like steroids or SARMs. While these substances can deliver significant results, they do come at a hefty price. The side effects of these compounds can lead to multiple health conditions and even death. Warning his viewers about being careful when using these compounds, Nippard suggested doing lifting for at least 8–10 years before deciding if you can benefit from steroids or not.

Nippard stated, “I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want with their bodies, as long as they are not hurting others.” Continuing further, he stated, “I think it’d be smart to at least max out your natural potential first. This will force you to understand your body and force you to learn how to pull the training and nutrition levers most effectively for your physique.” Nippard further talked and advised on how and when to use the gear.

Jeff continued by explaining that years of training can help an athlete better understand the functioning of his body. He stated, “That knowledge will then empower you so you don’t feel like you need anabolics and it’ll give you enough time to really make an informed decision.”

Ultimately, the decision to stay natural or to use PEDs is in your own hands. However, it is crucial to make this decision after giving it enough thought. Per Nippard, even if you start any compound, make sure to do it under the guidance of a professional.
