He recently took to his Instagram to share that his pet dog, Diva, had passed away after giving company to the athlete for 15 years. Hence, upon stumbling upon the update, the fans were deeply saddened by his loss.

The Canadian athlete took to Instagram only hours ago and posted a couple of adorable pictures of his dog, Diva. The first two snaps were close-ups of the dog, whereas the third displayed a curled-up Diva on her comfy pillow. The fourth picture was another sweet picture of the dog posing with her master’s hand patting her.

Doucette penned an emotional note for her beautiful pet, iterating a brief glimpse of the value she added to his life. “Diva has lived her last day. 15 yrs is a long time but it does not feel nearly long enough” the pro athlete wrote. Moreover, he described Diva’s personality traits as being a “happy dog” and having lived her “best life.“

He added, “Saying goodbye is not easy but at least I know she was happy until the end.” Evidently, Doucette was disheartened by the loss and could not help but share it with the community. The news also left the fans shaken, and they expressed their feelings in the comments.
