The bodybuilding world has recently been overwhelmed with several sad stories, with notable athletes passing away under unfortunate circumstances. While the community sits in hope for some good news to emerge, IFBB pro Greg Doucette has dropped another heartbreaking update.

He recently took to his Instagram to share that his pet dog, Diva, had passed away after giving company to the athlete for 15 years. Hence, upon stumbling upon the update, the fans were deeply saddened by his loss.

The Canadian athlete took to Instagram only hours ago and posted a couple of adorable pictures of his dog, Diva. The first two snaps were close-ups of the dog, whereas the third displayed a curled-up Diva on her comfy pillow. The fourth picture was another sweet picture of the dog posing with her master’s hand patting her.

Doucette penned an emotional note for her beautiful pet, iterating a brief glimpse of the value she added to his life. “Diva has lived her last day. 15 yrs is a long time but it does not feel nearly long enough” the pro athlete wrote. Moreover, he described Diva’s personality traits as being a “happy dog” and having lived her “best life.

He added, “Saying goodbye is not easy but at least I know she was happy until the end.” Evidently, Doucette was disheartened by the loss and could not help but share it with the community. The news also left the fans shaken, and they expressed their feelings in the comments.

Within hours, the post gathered a plethora of insights from fans, most of whom were saddened by the news. One fan wrote, “So very sorry for your loss. Dogs are family. Thoughts to you and your family Greg.” Whereas, another shared an emotional note for pets. “We never deserve our dogs 😢 Fly high, We’ll go harder then last time for you” the comment read.

“You gave her a great life. Sorry for your loss!” A fan acknowledged the athlete’s efforts. Similarly, other comments also expressed their feelings and wished for the pet’s peace. Some other comments were, “Sorry for your loss coach. Remember, all dogs go to heaven! ❤️” and “Worst thing about keeping animals is this day, RIP.”

Since time immemorial, a dog is deemed a man’s best friend. Therefore, there’s no doubt that Doucette is grief-stricken, and it will not be soon before he recovers completely from the heartbreaking instance. However, the athlete is pleased with the fact that he filled his beloved pet’s life with happiness and love.
