Furthermore, Cutler also engaged in a blood type diet, a special form of dieting, which helped him get into better shape for competitions.

What is the blood type diet?

Cutler first of all started his day by eating enough food that would normally feed a family of five. But when you are as bulky and huge as him, you need to consume enough carbs and proteins to ensure that your muscles are always chiseled and growing. The morning carbohydrate choice was switched from oatmeal to Ezekiel bread because this bread follows the blood type diet that helped him win Mr. Olympia. Cutler also made certain sacrifices. He was told that he could not eat eggs which was hard for him to do because he loved eggs during the morning, while he had to eat chicken breast for breakfast, which he did not like at all.

In the latest video, the 50-year-old, who achieved the Fit for 50 challenge, spoke about his 2006 Olympia where he first tried the blood type diet. When his manager, Matt Daniels asked him how much he waited during the time Cutler said, “Yeah 273 to 267 the night I won so I lost a few pounds from prejudging Friday …. Yeah I was huge!” He was his biggest weight during Mr Olympia.

The blood type diet helped him get the best body for Mr. Olympia, and eventually, he won even if he might not have liked eating what was recommended to him.

One had to be smart about an exercise selection. The triceps need a combination of the push-down type of exercises and a lot of overhead exercises to get the proper stretch. Cutler also emphasized that triceps are very hard to make so to get them steep incline EZ bar and cable overhead extensions are the best.

When he was talking about abs, he spoke about getting shredded abs only by getting the body fat down. No amount of ab exercises would do that for anyone, the best way to get abs was to have a proper diet and do cardio. Therefore, Jay Cutler gives a lot of importance to the way his food contributes to building his body, which helped him win his Sandow trophies.
