Chael Sonnen’s take on this matter

Chael Sonnen said that he is very used to such matchups and understands what the truth is. “In the end, it’s a great story, flashy,” he stated. ‘The American Gangster’ thinks it is nothing but a marketing gimmick, and it was for Mayweather, they made this kind of flashy thing.

He again said, “The media is there. And for no other reason or opportunity, they gave this belt. He said thank you and gave it back to them, you guys know this?” It is surely a question of justification for the money-loaded program. Sonnen thinks it is a total disrespect to the combat sports world. He believes ‘Money’ Mayweather or WBC should not have done such a marketing gimmick in a cross-sports battle.
