Three-division world champion, Gervonta Davis, is all set to face the Lightweight phenom, Ryan Garcia, in one of the Lightweight division’s most anticipated showdowns. Meanwhile, Davis is often seen extending support to fellow athletes and commending them for their victories. The shooting guard for the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Angel Reese, was recently awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Player’ of the 2023 NCAA Tournament. And, Davis wasted no time in showing his appreciation.

LSU Tigers recently faced the Iowa Hawkeyes. Moreover, they secured an impressive 102-85 win. And, in turn, also won their first national title. Reese had a fundamental role in this victory and won the outstanding player award as a result.

Additionally, she even channeled WWE legend John Cena while celebrating her team’s victory. As per CBS Sports, talking about the win, she said, “All year I was critiqued about who I was. … I don’t fit the narrative. I don’t fit in a box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it, y’all say nothing.”

Moreover, she added, “It was bigger than me tonight. It was bigger than me. Twitter is going to go on a rage every time, and I’m happy. I feel like I’ve helped grow women’s basketball this year.” She also mentioned that she was looking forward to the next season. Davis reshared her statements as an Instagram story, showing his appreciation.

Ryan Garcia has a message for Gervonta Davis

Garcia and Davis are set to face each other in an April showdown. Ahead of the fight, Garcia had a few choice words for ‘Tank’. He revealed that he is stepping in for a sure-shot victory, by saying, “That’s a guarantee I’m coming. I am not here for no reason.”

Garcia further strengthened his stance, by adding, “You’re gonna find out real soon, Gervonta Davis. Real soon, I promise you. None of this stuff is going to work with me, I promise that.”
