Boxing Legend Manny Pacquiao Extends Support to Simone Biles: “Once a Champion, Always a Champion”

The Tokyo Olympics 2020 has been trending over the last week for obvious reasons. The fans have thoroughly enjoyed their time by watching athletes put on a show. However, yesterday, a disheartening incident left the fans worried and deterred. This happened because one of the finest gymnasts in the world, Simone Biles, pulled out of the team final over mental health concerns.

Athletes across all the sporting verticals know how consuming and draining any sport can be, both mentally and physically. That said, Biles, who wasn’t in her best mental momentum, felt that she needed some time off. Following her withdrawal, several stars including Manny Pacquiao offered their support.

The Filipino Senator provided some encouraging words to the 24-year-old. Once a champion, always a champion.  God Bless @Simone_Biles.” ‘Pacman’ wrote on his Twitter. 

This was not the first time the boxing veteran came out to support any athlete. In the past, too, he has stood by many athletes who have been going through some dreadful concerns in their life. This makes Pacquiao stand apart from the crowd. That’s principally why he’s the most respected boxer of all time.

That said, his above comments would matter significantly to Biles, who is currently struggling away from the gymnastics arena. Just like ‘Pacman’, every single sports lover in this world would be keen to see the gymnast recover and return to competition at her best.
